The need

Valtra, a Finnish agricultural machinery manufacturer, was looking for a partner to cultivate their social media strategy. The need was to critically review the existing approach and propose changes that would plow new ground in the current social media field, supporting Valtra’s business goals.

The main goal for the strategy was to build brand familiarity and support market share growth in Europe. Additionally, Valtra aimed to enhance the brand experience. Valve was chosen to help Valtra harness the power of social media by creating a clear strategy and plan, and by developing internal processes and resource allocation.

The solution

The key to success in the project was the close and effortless cooperation between the Valve and Valtra teams. Getting to know the business model as well as the key people in a face-to-face workshop helped to kick off the collaboration. Insights were gathered regarding business goals, operating model, main markets, target audiences and personas, resources, guidelines, and more.

After the workshop, Valve conducted light research of the competitor landscape, current channel performance, and brand study assisted by AI. 

The results 

The new comprehensive social media strategy considers strategic angles like platform selection, resource division, and global/local approach. It also provides practical guidelines for content creation, fostering communities and brand loyalty, internal processes, measurement, and entry plans for new platforms.

After implementing the strategy, the goal is for the Valtra brand to be measurably positioned as the most high-quality, consistent, highly authentic, and engaging brand among the competition.
